It belongs to a class of NSAID (Non- steroidal anti-inflammatory Drugs). It treats painful conditions of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis (pain and stiffness in the backbone), cervical spondylitis (wear and tear of spinal discs in neck), menstrual pain. It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties. Do not take this medicine if you have any bleeding disorder or asthma or a known allergy to this medicine. Celecoxib blocks chemicals that cause pain and swelling.
